ReplyDeleteThere some many question to ask.
What do you said the different of nurture and nature?
Share your story connect to the nature and nurture.
and what affects to you?
Now we going back to the the pass lesson which is the affects the drugs in our brain.
So i have some question to i have ask.

Show a some story about the affects of drugs in brain.
What is the behavioral approach for you?
Tell some story about the behavioral approach.
Thats all i hope you can ans.ty
hi... gud afternoon im rachel B. Montebon,I Think the best reason why we should study behaviorist approach because it can reflect in our daily lives as a people or citizen in our society, the effect of this approach in our daily life, was we can communicate people around us although we had an individual diffirencies but,it was a challenge that we need to face it. this question come from Abiel cambyses Festejo.
ReplyDeleteHi I'm Josie Javier. This is my answer to your question Faith.
ReplyDeleteWhen you talk about the concept of NATURE, as for example applied in the behaviorist setting, you are talking about a set of roles, skills and hereditary characteristics which are passed on from one generation to the next. For example, if your mother and your maternal grandmother are both good singers then chances are you can also be a great singer yourself because genetically, it is in your lineage and the chances of it being passed on to you without effort whatsoever is very high.
When you talk about NURTURE, on the other hand, the set of skills and roles are to be cultivated through time, care and practice while completely eliminating the variable of hereditary characteristics. You invest time and effort into something that you can be good at even if it is not in your lineage or you have not started out with the potential to be it by audio by ear, for example.
Nature relies mostly on inherited traits, while nurture relies mostly on time spent improving a skill set. These two things, heredity and lineage for nature and time and effort invested into practice nurture are the stark differences that would pit these two concepts against one another in many a debate in and outside the circles of the educational institution.
Thats all thank you!
sir all the question that they give were going to answer or we just read and study it and summarize it before DEC.29 ??? ^_^
ReplyDeletehi there.. for me the nurture and nature is all about the discussion between the influence of heredity(nature) and environment(nurture)
ReplyDeletehi....gud afternoon im Rachel B. Montebon, the first question that you post about the nature and nurture, the diffirence between them.for my point of view about nature it is not a physical environment that you live,it is a way of determining how the child adopt his or her in there sorroundings the beliefs, traditions and values that they had, while nurture it is the process of bringing the children into the proper age or adolescents period. the next question about behavioral approach, for my own defination about behavioral approach is the study of behavior of the people on how they communicate to each other.the third question if drugs affect the brain ,i think it depends upon the person who used drugs, drugs can affect to our brain if the person used drugs as always used it,drugs can't affect if the person used it as a relaxation i their daily activities. this question come from lovefaith Velasco.
ReplyDeletehi good afternoon !
ReplyDeletefor me nature is the behavior of people in their environment, while nurture is the impluence that a people can get to their environment .
for me the behaviorist approach is to develop a framework which emphasized observable processes environmental stimuli and behavioral responses.
ReplyDeletehi. . . (^-^)
ReplyDeletefor me nature is our inherit too our parents behavior, while the nurture(environment)is the influence by the people...
the behaviorist approach focuses on the link between the environment and our behavior. it means that our behavior is affected by experience and what we have learned.
ReplyDeleteThis is my answer to your question Abiel.
ReplyDeleteI think, the affect of behavioral approach in our daily life is to explain to us the behavior through observation, and the belief that our environment is what causes us to behave differently or suffer illnesses.
Thank you !
questions:
ReplyDelete1.do you have any experience about your behavior?
2.do you think that there's a signs to know if you have a good or bad behavior?
3.any concerns or issues about behavior.
4.give me a notable behaviorist(person).
post your answer ..
please give a situations about behavioral approach
i hope all of you can cooperate.
thank you !
nature is said to be the inherited or inborn traits of our behavior while nurture is the where the environment is a factor that affects our thinking.
ReplyDeleteDrugs make their effects known by acting to enhance or interfere with the activity of neurotransmitters and receptors within the synapses of the brain. Some neurotransmitters carry inhibitory messages across the synapses, while others carry excitatory messages. Agonistic drugs enhance the message carried by the neurotransmitters; inhibitory neurotransmitters become more inhibitory, and excitatory neurotransmitters become more excitatory. Antagonistic drugs, on the other hand, interfere with the transmission of neurotransmitter messages; the natural action of neurotransmitters is interfered with so that their effects are lessened or eliminated.
ReplyDeletefaith this is my answer for your question.about drugs and affects to our brain. .
ReplyDeleteyes it does but not only our brain but also our body affected. for example,
cocaine
>Cocaine is a powerfully addictive drug. Heavy use may produce paranoia, hallucinations,
aggression, insomnia, and depression.
effects:
>Addiction, pupil dilation, elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Increased respiratory rate, seizures, heart attack, insomnia, anxiety, restlessness, irritability, increased body temperature, death from overdose.

ReplyDeleteany other experience?
Based on apple contreras question , this is one of the example of the behaviorist approach .
ReplyDeleteExample:
I notice we are using behaviorism once we wake up. If we wake up on time we won’t have to rush and can avoid traffic and find parking. This is negative reinforcement. We negatively reinforce ourself because we have experienced punishment of waking up late and sitting in traffic and walking distance because we were not able to find a good parking spot. Behaviorism is a choice and the consequences motivate us to which behavior we will do. We have different choices to choose from, but considering the consequences we chose our behavior sometimes automatically and pick our response accordingly. In order to change behavior there must be consequences.

::> I think The behavioural approach assumes all behaviours are learnt, and that our experiences and environment make us who we are.
ANSWER for FAaith Velasco Question ::
ReplyDeleteNATURE is istinct, something that you are born with
NURTURE is something learned from an outside source
ps this sounds like a book report question,
if it is you should do your own work:)
FOR EXAMPLE:
Nature - Genetic and various inborn biological factors affecting overall development. Nurture....we are who we are b/c of the way we grew up...children are who they are as a direct result of their lives when growing up as a child
Nurture - Although "nurture" may have historically referred mainly to the care given to children by their parents, any environmental (not genetic) factor also would count as "nurture" in a contemporary nature versus nurture debate, including one's childhood friends, one's early experiences with television, and one's experience in the womb. Indeed, a substantial source of environmental input to human nature may arise from stochastic variations in prenatal development. Additionally, although childhood experience (especially early childhood experience) is often regarded as more influential in who one becomes than post-childhood experience, a liberal interpretation of "nurture" might count all life experience as "nurture".

the behaviorist approach focuses on the environment and behavior. it's basic principle is the concept of parsimony, which seeks the simplest explanation of any event. some famous behaviorists are edwin lynn thorndike, john b. watson and john broadus watson.
ReplyDeletebehaviorism focuses on observable events which can be studied. stimuli and response are involved in this approach. they can be compared to cause and effect.
there are different types of stimuli and response; unconditioned response, unconditioned stimulus, neutral stimulus, conditioned(learned) stimulus and conditioned response.

ah... sir i finish summarizing the behavioral approach this is my blog sir annalyn013.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteBehavioral Approach
ReplyDeleteBehaviourism is primarily concerned with observable behaviour, as opposed to internal events like thinking and emotion. Observable (i.e. external) behaviour can be objectively and scientifically measured.
Behavioral psychology, also known as behaviorism, is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Conditioning occurs through interaction with the environment. According to behaviorism, behavior can be studied in a systematic and observable manner with no consideration of internal mental states.
Example:
I notice we are using behaviorism once we wake up. If we wake up on time we won’t have to rush and can avoid traffic and find parking. This is negative reinforcement. We negatively reinforce ourself because we have experienced punishment of waking up late and sitting in traffic and walking distance because we were not able to find a good parking spot. ReplyDeletebehaviorist approach
ReplyDeleteAccording to the behaviorists, learning can be defined as the relatively permanent change in behavior brought about as a result of experience or practice
In fact, the term "learning theory" is often associated with the behavioral view. Researchers who affiliate with this position do not generally look with favor on the term "behavior potential" (i.e., may be capable of performing but did not for some reason such as illness, situation, etc.) that was included in a definition accepted by those with a cognitive or humanistic viewpoint.
dancone sir is done 2 but his com. cennot connect ^_^
ReplyDeletesir I'm done my assignment, just check it to my blog here in dancone-psychologylearning.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteBehavioral Approach
ReplyDeleteHuman behavior is learned, thus all behavior can be unlearned and newbehaviors learned in its place. BEHAVIORISM is concerned primarily with theobservable and measurable aspects of human behavior. Therefore when behaviorsbecome unacceptable, they can be unlearned.
BEHAVIORISM
views development as acontinuous process in which children play a relatively passive role. It is alsoa general approach that is used in a variety of settings including both clinicaland educational.
EXAMPLE
An example of a currently used behavioral approach to psychology is setting up an incentive system in order to get your child to do chores. They do a chore, they get a token, at the end of a certain amount of time they turn their tokens in for something larger (money, an outing, whatever). Behavioral psychology believes that we LEARN by manipulating (not necessarily in a negative way) the situation to provoke the desired behavior, and if it happens over and over, the person has learned it and ultimately won't need to have the situation manipulated anymore. This sprung from Pavlov's research with dogs (rang the bell, gave them food, later rang the bell and sometimes gave them food, eventually they salivated every time he rang the bell even though he'd stopped giving them food after it).

BEHAVIORIST APPROACH !
> SUMmARIZING
ReplyDeleteA reinforcer is a stimulus which when it follows a response ,
reinfofcement is the process by which a reinforcer increases the probability of a reponse.for example , attention praise money and tropies can all act as reinforcers.rienforcing stimuli like these are described as conditioned reinforcers.
conditioned reinforcer in operant conditioning, stimuli which act as rienforcers but are not based on biological survival such as praise, money or criticism.for example, dkinner has argued that attention becomes aconditioned rienforcer in early infancy because it precedes(and is therefore associated with)receiving primary reinforcers:the baby cries,an adults give attention by coming to see what is wrong, and then the adults provides a primary rienforcer like food or a dry nappy.
Sir. I’m from ComSec.1B..
ReplyDeleteThis are my summarizing about behaviorist approach
I learned about the RADICAL BEHAVIOURISM which means a position adopted by Watson and skinner which argues that mental states are both inaccessible to scientific study and irrelevant to under standing behavior .
REINFORCER in operant conditioning a stimulus which, when it follows a response.
REINFORCEMENT in operant conditioning the process by which a reinforce increasesthe probability of a response.
The most powerful conditioned reinforcer in our society is MONEY,which can be used to obtain a wide range of other reinforcers .
SHAPING is defined as the process of reinforcing successive approximations to a desired esponce.
THE 4 TYPES OF REINFORCEMENT ARE THE FF:
1.FIXED RATIO-this provide reinforcement a fixed number of response.
2.VARIABLE RATIO-this schedule gives reinforcement only after making a certain number values.
EXAMPLE:-schedule in everyday life is the operation of slot machine like lotto or jueteng
3.FIXED INTERVAL-this schedule gives reinforcement for the 1st response that occur after some fixed time.
EXAMPLE:it receiving sallarie on fixed dates such as every 15th of each month.
4..VARIABLE INTERVAL-its provide reinforcement for the 1st response after some period of time.
2 TYPES OF NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT
1.ESCAPE learning
2.AVOIDANCE learning
Summmary of Behaviorism Approach
ReplyDeleteI learned that behaviorism approach about that a reinforcers is a condition of a stimulus that response by reccurring.and i learned also the two negative reinforcer the first is the escape learning and the second is avoidance learning this two types was includes to the behavior of one person or individual.I learned also the two types of reinforcer the positive and negative reinforcer it also about the thinking of one person or the wants of them.I learned also about the biofeedback that it is a general term of applications of the process of automatic conditioning and it refers to the human behavior and phsiological process of human and normally observable.I learned more in behaviorism approach that we about our self and the other people around you.........

ReplyDeleteIlearn about reinforcement is about the schdules OF REINFORCEMENT there are times when reinforcement is deliver in every time that particular responce occur.this is called CONTINIOUS REINFORCEMENT schdule it is very often how ever reinforcement administered only some of the time that why called PARTIAL io INTERMITTENT REINFORCEMENT
and also i learned about the 4 types of reinforcement they are 1). fixed ratio 2).variable ratio 3)fixed interval 4).variable interval ....
and about the stimulus how ever its also part of reinforcement ...they have discrimitive stimulus to operant conditioning a stimulus which signals the contigency of reinforcement available..

COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY > is the branch of psychology that studies mental processes including how people think, perceive, remember and learn. As part of the larger field of cognitive science, this branch of psychology is related to other disciplines including neuroscience, philosophy, and linguistics.
ReplyDeleteWHO SHOULD STUDY COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY
> Because cognitive psychology touches on many other disciplines, people in a number of different fields often study this branch of psychology. The following are just a few of those who may benefit from studying cognitive psychology.
Students interested in behavioral neuroscience, linguistics, industrial-organizational psychology, artificial intelligence and other related areas.
Teachers, educators and curriculum designers can benefit by learning more about how people process, learn, and remember information.
Engineers, scientists, artists, architects and designers can all benefit fro

ENCODING AND STORAGE IN MEMORY
ReplyDeleteENCODING >The processing of stimulus information for retention in memory.
STORAGE > The retention of information in memory.
MAINTENANCE REHEARSAL > The retention in material in STM by means of rote repetition.
ELABORATIVE REHEARSAL > The active of processing of items in STM in order to code information for LTM, material may be procssed in various, ranging ways from emphasis sensory characteristic ( visual appearance, sound) to focus on the semantic content ( meaning ) of information.
THE COGNITIVE MAP
> Tolman's terms for the mental representation
of learn relation-ship among stimuli.
INSIGHT > While early behaviourists saw learning as basically a matter of trial error. that we tend to organized experience in particular ways. this illustrated by the phenomenon Kohler called INSIGHT.
MENTAL SET > This is sudden change in the way one organizes a problem situation, typicallyn characterized by a change in behaviour from random responding a rule- based responding. in general insight can be described as forming an approporiate schema this is MENTAL SET.

ReplyDeleteabout encoding and storage in Memory ...
ENCODING- it means the processing of stimulus information for retention in memory, and is it retained ? cognitive psychologists refer to the underlying processes as encoding and storage.
The importance of encoding highlights one of the most significant as aspects of LTM, which is the fact that information is retained in an organized way,
FREE ASSOCIATION-that asking the person to simply say whatever words floated in to their mind. For EXAMPLE ....named Barbara shortly after he met a former student on the street he remembered having thought the girl what course she had taken and even her final grade but not her name.
And also i learned the FREUDS PSYCHODYNAMIC MODEL OF PERSONALITY.. .
neurosis- is a disorder in which high levels of anxietyare primary symptom.
id(LATIN for 'it')was the of all basic drives from the moment of birth , for EXamPle.. if it is hungryor wet , it cries until its demand are met.
PRIMARY THINKING PROCESS- a wish and its fulfilment are equivalent with no reference to reality.
REALITY PRINCIPLE IN FREUDS THEORY the constraints imposesd on the ego oby the environment ...

THE COGNITIVE APPROACH
ReplyDeleteI learned that the mediator is a process or event within comes between a stimulus. cognitive map is a term for the mental representation of learned relationship among the stimuli and insight is a sudden charge in the way one organizes a problem situation typically that is characterize by a charged in behavior form .
a mental set in the cognitive schema an individual uses to organize their preception of a particular situation such as problem and latent learning describe situation in which learning is distinct form the performance of behavior.
learning and memory have a different learning is a process of gathering information and organizing .
memory is a retention and use learning recall in memory the active retrieval of information.
i know that recognition in memory is the process of identifying presented information as familiar and learning despite to recall or recognize and their have a short and long term memory
i learned also that our memory has have a procedural and we can organize it .you know we can compare our mind to a flash drive that have a 100's GB because we can stored our memory like a flash drive we can save anything we want .But our mind have a capacity sometimes we forget some memory because of the passage of time or we forget it because if we have a new learned or another memorable to came the new incoming information pushing out the previous memory.
THE PSYCHODYNAMIC APPROACH
ReplyDeleteI learned that the motivation is motivated by mental processes some of which operate outside the individual awareness . behavior as part of coherence whole personality which reflect both current motivation and post experience. psychic determinism is a assumption made by Freud which state that all behavior has a cause and that the cause is to be found in the mind. the importance of unconsious process is that much of behavior is governed by process that lie outside the individuals awareness is that crucial mental influence are unconcious. another important assumption was the continuity of normal and abnormal behavior the last to point to consider is value of clinical data trained as experementalist. hysteria is a disorder characterized by physical symtoms for which there is no apparent physical cause.
catharsis is release of drive energy in indirect form either through the process of recalling emotionally charged experience of involvement in symbolic activity. a free association a technique orginated to study the mind based on asking a person to simply say whatever words floated into the mind and then looking for patterns.
conscious is a the aspect of the mind which with contains those thoughts and feeling of which we are immediately aware at a given moment . subconscious was the portion of the mind which are below the level of conscious awareness. preconscious is a part of subconscious which cannot be directly accessed by the conscious mind nonetheless impulse and through form the unconscious can learn out in fragmentary intrusions into conscious awareness either directly or in symbolic form.
